Artist in Residence

The Artist in Residence Program is currently offered to 2nd - 4th grades.   In conjunction with the Pittsburgh Center of the Arts, artists introduce the students to various forms of art.   The artist does a large group presentation, which could include examples of their work, how their interest developed, what their typical day is like, and how they will teach their art to our students.

In 2008-2009 2nd graders were given the chance to make puppets and even put on a puppet show for   parents and students.   3rd graders helped design and complete a large mosaic for the new Children's Hospital.     New last year   was Fine Arts Week with 4th grade which included a week long rotation of 5 artists with each and every 4th grader.
