2010 Summer Reading Program
From June 21 to August 5, 2010, 108 students registered to participate in the Summer Reading Program. 83 students were registered as Accelerated Readers (k-4) and 25 students were registered as Emerging Readers.
The readers earned prizes from local businesses including Sonic, Eat N Park, Vocelli’s, Chuck E Cheese, Armstrong’s Express, Barnes and Noble, McDonalds, Kings, Bob Evans, Cold Stone Pizza and Cici’s Pizza. State Farm donated coloring books and crayons for the craft center.
On Thursday, August 5th, Frownie Brownie visited our program celebration by bringing 100 brownies for the students. Prizes were awarded to the Top Point Earners in each grade, and the raffle prizes were drawn. Many parents complimented Mrs. Berthney and how the program was run and loved the fact that the library was open to the students over the summer months.
Summer reading was again a success! Hope to see you all next summer, till then the Accelerated Reader Program for the 2010-2011 year should be up and running shortly!
